Discover the secret mathematical algorithm found in the He Tu and the Luo Shu.
The He Tu and the Luo Shu are two of the fundamental bases of Chinese Metaphysics. Its origins are shrouded in myths and legends that speak of fantastical creatures emerging from a river with divine numbers engraved on their back. While the validity of such stories is debatable, there are some interesting features when it comes to these two numerological models.
When examined carefully, these two are actually mathematical concepts. The He Tu for example is a theoretical model of the perfect and ideal condition of the universal forces. In this state of perfect balance of Yin and Yang, there is no movement, no evolution and it is unaffected by the passage of time. With these traits, it eventually gave rise to the Early Heaven Ba Gua and the Eight Trigrams.

The Luo Shu square on the other hand is the basis for the Nine Palaces in QiMen Dun Jia. The numerical arrangement has very interesting properties:
Based on the special properties of the Luo Shu, ancient sages have theorized that this is the movement path of Qi or energy. This pattern in the context of QiMen Dun Jia is referred to as the Luo Shu Path and it is how all QiMen Charts are derived. Without it, you can’t even begin to plot any chart!
As practitioners of QiMen can attest, there is something inexplicably mystical about the arrangement of the chart. Even if it is one of the basic concepts in Chinese Metaphysics, it is insightful to know of its hidden properties.
