October 2022 Case of the Month
In this month’s case study, we’re revisiting a popular question that is often asked; “Should I change my job?” Before this sort of question is asked, you have to realize what is it that you really want out of a job.
Marina is in a dilemma. She is currently working in sales and recently, she was offered a new job opportunity. This job offer however is based on her old operation management qualifications. The money is seemingly good, but she’s not too sure if it’s worth it or if there would be any growth if she goes back to her dead-end job. So, she did a QiMen Forecasting at 7:35PM 12/2/2020:
As her question is related to job and career, we first have to look at the Open Door開門. By the looks of it, the Six Harmony Deity六合 denotes that she may be able to gain new connections through this new job. With the Heavenly Ambassador Star天任星 there as well, it could denote the presence of nobleman. The Stems however are not so good as Xin辛 with Ding丁 indicates poor personal relationships.
The current job, represented by the Day Palace in the Northwest, tells a different story. With the presence of Life Door生門, it seems rather profitable as it is. Heavenly Assistant Star天輔星, usually representing education, shows that she has a lot to learn in her current career. While the Red Phoenix Deity朱雀 may represent argumentative superiors, she can still benefit from the people around as represented by Yi乙.
To find the correct answer to this forecast, we have to go back and see what the Asker had actually wanted. What Marina valued is the opportunity to grow. She left the previous job to begin with because there wasn’t any opportunity to do so. Overall, it’s much more favourable for her to stay where she is as the Forecasting had indicated she has much to learn in her current position.
