In this month’s case study, we’re revisiting a popular question that is often asked; “Should I change my job?” Before this sort of question is asked, you have to realize what is it that you really want out of a job.
In this month’s case study, we’re revisiting a popular question that is often asked; “Should I change my job?” While it’s something that’s on a lot of people’s mind, it’s not really a good question to ask QiMen as it lacks clarity. Before this sort of question is asked, you have to realize what is it that you really want out of a job.
Jessica is in a dilemma. She is currently working in sales and recently, she was offered a new job opportunity. This job offer however is based on her old operation management qualifications. The money is seemingly good, but she’s not too sure if it’s worth it or if there would be any growth if she goes back to her dead-end job. So, she did a QiMen Forecasting at 7:35PM 12/2/2020:
As her question is related to job and career, we first have to look at the Open Door. By the looks of it, the Six Harmony Deity denotes that she may be able to gain new connections through this new job. With the Heavenly Ambassador there as well, it could denote the presence of nobleman. The Stems however are not so good as Xin with Ding indicates poor personal relationships.
The current job, represented by the Day Palace in the Northwest, tells a different story. With the presence of Life Door, it seems rather profitable as it is. Heavenly Assistant, usually representing education, shows that she has a lot to learn in her current career. While the Phoenix deity may represent argumentative superiors, she can still benefit from the people around as represented by Yi.
To find the correct answer to this forecast, we have to go back and see what the Asker had actually wanted. What Jessica valued is the opportunity to grow. She left the previous job to begin with because there wasn’t any opportunity to do so. Overall, it’s much more favourable for her to stay where she is as the Forecasting had indicated she has much to learn in her current position.
