The Art of Making Friends Out of Rivals

One of the best ways to subdue the threats from your rivals is to befriend them. You will be able to advance your own goals while appearing selfless in doing so. In QiMen Dun Jia, there is a formation called the Nobility Deception which may assist you in achieving this.

Wherever we go, there are bound to be disagreements. No two humans are the same and some have such differing characteristics, values and principles from us it is inevitable that rivalries are borne out of these factors alone.

Just as there are a lot of differences between two individuals, try hard enough and you may also find shared objectives, hobbies and ambition. Sometimes, instead of trying to one up one another, it can be more productive and beneficial for both parties to strike up a friendship or partnership towards a common goal.

In order to gain the trust of others including your rivals so that they will respect you and be willing to lay down their arms and join your fight, you need charisma and instant likeability. You need to be able to convince others that you are willing to commit to join forces for a common cause.

We have covered two structures from the QiMen Dun Jia’s 3 Deceptions in the past two months. To recap, they are the Real Deception and the Double Deception. The third structure called the Nobility Deception (Xiu Zha) is catered to help make friends out of one’s rivals.

The Nobility Deception structure is hard to come by because as usual the day, hour and palace need to fulfil certain criteria.  Let’s take a look at the example below:

In the QiMen chart above, the Gen palace forms the Nobility Deception (or Xiu Zha) structure because it fulfils the required criteria.

To form the Nobility Deception structure the palace in question needs to contain the Six Harmony deity, any one of the Three Nobles stems (Yi Bing or Ding) for the Heavenly Stem; as well as the Rest, Life or Open Door.

During the day in question and within the hour pillar, it would be best for the individual to sit in the Gen or Northeast area with his or her back facing the Northeast direction. Talk to the rival you want convinced to stand by your side over the phone, a conference call or in a meeting room in this position. It is as simple as that.

The structure when used correctly helps to boost your charisma so others are drawn to you. In this way, you can earn the trust and respect of your competitors and rivals, turning them into partners instead. You may even spring a surprise attack on them this way, although we don’t recommend it.

This structure helps you to appear noble, selfless and righteous in the eyes of others no matter the outcome of the endeavour. You just have to make sure you can present yourself in the right character to match how positive you will appear once this structure is successfully employed.

Below are some simple exercises to gauge your understanding of the Nobility Deception structure:

Q1. Which structure below is not part of the 3 Deceptions of QiMen Dun Jia?
Q2. Which of the Doors is not part of the criteria in forming the Nobility Deception structure?

Try Again!

Q3. Which of the stems below does not figure in the Heavenly Stem of a palace that forms the Nobility Deception structure?

So, are you tired of always trying to stay one step ahead of your competitors? Are you looking to convince them to establish a business partnership with you instead? Apply this QiMen structure and see how it goes. Don’t forget to share the results in the Comment box below.
